CANCELLED….WinTech Racing Head of The Tweed 2021

With a heavy heart and after much discussion with our members and committee, we have elected to cancel this year’s HoTT. The Covid events of this week have driven home to us, that outbreaks will continue to occur until the majority of people have been vaccinated. We had hoped that the vaccine program would have been much further advanced than it is.
There is a lot of work to organise this event and many attendees have to arrange travel and accommodation etc, plus it would be a very cumbersome task to organise entry refunds. We would hate to have to cancel at the last minute as has occurred with the Bluesfest and ruin peoples weekend.
So we will now focus on making HoTT 2022 bigger and better than ever, hope to see you all in 2022 !!

Racing hints for the Tweed
Competitors please note that the deep channel is marked by green buoys and that those buoys should remain on the bow side of your boat whilst heading to the club. MRC boat race officials will be stationed along the course to warn competitors of approaching potential hazards,ie Tweed Broadwater, Stotts Island Channel, Tumbulgum Bridge, and Condong Bridge. In addition, officials will lead the race, advising other river users of the approaching rowers.
Spectator viewing points
For the best view of the boats traveling up our beautiful river, drive south along the motorway, exiting at Tweed Valley Way and turn right into Tumbulgum (click on 'view larger map' above for directions). This is a quite little village with easy and safe access to the river. Note; If you are stopping anywhere along the Tweed Valley Way, before Condong, please take care crossing the road as it is a 100km zone.
